~We're back...~

The weekend went by really quickly. We had a good time, it was cold but sunny. Once it stopped raining on Friday that is. Sunday saw some snow flurries, but not a lot. We went for long walks with the dog, taking photos as we went. The leaves were pretty good, but will get better before they fall from the trees. We cooked for ourselves, drank wine, read books, and laughed. Yes, there was lots of laughing.
It did us all good.
My sister and I talked about Dad, our memories of him and the fun things we did as kids. He loved this place we stayed at, and had been there many times with our Mum. We both felt they were with us in spirit, and would have been happy to know we still go there together all these years later.
Here are some photos of the area, it looks so different in the Summer and Winter

(Sorry..photos for this post were lost when blog was imported from previous site.)

  2. Your photographs are a great treat for me since our Autumn isn't that colorful. Sisters are the best. So glad you had a good time together.

  4. Gorgeous photos of fall! Those little fungi growing off the trees in the first one....I used to gather those in the woods and clean them up, with glue add tiny rocks, small artificial flowers, moss, etc. and sell them as a table decoration. Long time ago. I especially liked the "country lane" photo that was last. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Sheila, your photos are simply gorgeous! They make me long for autumn weather and the changing of the trees. We get a little bit of that but not like where you are. Thanks for sharing them with us.

  11. Welcome home, dear Sheila!! Sounds like it was a wonderful time away and I know in my heart that your mom & dad were smiling down on you and your sister:-) I so enjoyed looking at your pictures, it's certainly a beautiful time of year to be in a country setting. Our Autumn colours were at their peak last week but now there aren't too many leaves left. With the heavy frost we've been getting most mornings, most leaves have fallen.

Sheila, thank you SO very much for the beautiful birthday card you sent me. I've been meaning to let you know it had arrived...see what happens when you have another birthday, the memory goes that much more! lol xoxo
