~Family Matters~

I am not on vacation. I had a call from my sister on Wednesday evening to let us know my Dad was very ill. We went to the nursing home and sat with him. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday June 26th.
The funeral is on Monday at 1.30pm.
He had suffered with senile dementia and other illness for some years, so while it was expected at anytime, it is still hard to believe he is gone, almost 12 years to the day since I lost my Mother. Dad was 82 years old.
I will be taking some time off and will be back later in the Summer.
Love to all
Sheila

  6. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.

Now I understand why I haven't been able to get you out of my thoughts. I was about to pick up the phone and call you when I decided to check in here....

No matter how old our fathers were at the time of passing, they were still the ONLY father we will ever have. And we as their children, not matter how old fell orphaned...
